Summer 2026, MCLC Events

May 1

Family and Friends Memory Cafe: The Memory cafe is a social event where caregivers and people living with memory loss can spend time with others in a friendly, social environment. Each cafe offers structured creative arts based activities, social connection, and refreshments. This event will meet monthly at the MCLC Auditorium.
Dementia Music Hour: Dementia music therapy is an evidence-based clinical intervention led by a credentialed professional that uses music to address the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of those with memory loss. It is particularly effective because musical memory and emotion are often processed throughout the entire brain, allowing these regions to remain functional even in late-stage dementia when other cognitive systems have declined. This event will meet monthly beginning Summer of 2026 at the MCLC Auditorium.
Caregiver Grief and Loss Circle: This group offers a structured small-group format . It is designed to facilitate deep listening, (secular) spiritual growth, and community connection through discussion and reflection upon one’s relationship to grief and loss, particularly around dementia and dementia caregiving. Unlike a social gathering or support group, the goal of the Circle is not to “fix” anyone or reach a consensus, but to provide a sacred space where participants can share their inner lives without judgment.
