In 2001, Heritage Community of Kalamazoo (HCK) was at the forefront of providing care for individuals living with dementia and related diseases by opening Amber Way. Our innovative memory care community was built specifically to care for individuals in middle stages of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Over the past nine years, the programmatic offerings and skilled staff at Amber Way have earned the reputation as the community of choice for those needing memory care services. Since opening, Amber Way has been essentially 100% occupied and currently has a waiting list for admission.
HCK is now in a unique position to continue to meet unprecedented demand by renovating a portion of our Directors Hall facility into a specialized Dementia and Alzheimer's Center. Ready for occupancy in October 2010, Amber Place will be the lowest all-inclusive priced option for Alzheimer's and dementia care in the Kalamazoo region. Amber Place will match the high level of compassionate and quality care currently provided at Amber Way.
