Ready for occupancy in October 2010, Amber Place will be the lowest all-inclusive priced option for Alzheimer's and dementia care in the Kalamazoo region. Amber Place will match the high level of compassionate
and quality care currently provided at Amber Way.
How many people will live at Amber Place?
Amber Place will accommodate 17 individuals in our homelike setting. Apartments include a private room with a half-bath. For the individual's comfort and safety, a Spa-like bathing area is available. Assistance is
provided with bathing or showering, with sensitivity to the individual's comfort, privacy, and dignity.

An individualized care and service plan is created for each person within our community, taking into consideration the ever-changing needs of someone experiencing cognitive challenges.
What kinds of activities are provided at Amber Place?
Life enriching activities are provided every day following the Best Friends approach. All staff are knowledgeable of and sensitive to the interests, needs
and challenges of each individual in our community. We provide a variety of planned and unplanned activities that are designed to make meaningful connections and positive encounters. Each person's unique life story is celebrated through activities that may include familiar routines and interactions with others related to the kitchen and food, life story sharing and reminiscence, religious and spiritual traditions, and wellness.
