Partnerships

We believe in our community and value our community affiliations and partnerships. Our signature programs and projects with community partners include:

Alzheimer's Association Michigan Great Lakes Chapter

It is our privilege to provide an office at our Wyndham Apartments for the chapter's southwest region (Kalamazoo). The Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter is headquartered in Chelsea, and has three service regions and a governing board drawn from these regions.

In addition to the Kalamazoo office, the Association has two other service regions located in Lansing (Capital Area Region) and Muskegon (West Shore Region). The chapter serves 23 Michigan counties and an estimated 44,000 individuals with Alzheimer's disease.

Bronson Methodist Hospital

Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE)

We are grateful for the opportunity and support received from Bronson as a participant in preparing our nurses to deliver geriatric sensitive care and to improve clinical outcomes for the older adult. In turn, we have provided opportunities for Bronson Volunteers and clinical staff from the hospital's Adult Medical Unit (AMU) to receive training in the Best Friends™ Approach to dementia care.

Kalamazoo Area Parkinson's Support Group

New this year is our affiliation and administrative leadership in support of the Kalamazoo Area Parkinson's Support Group, affiliated with the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation. Educational and small group meeting are held on a monthly basis, offering education and support to area people with Parkinson's disease.
