Staff Wellness

Heritage Community golf outingAt Heritage Community of Kalamazoo (HCK), we appreciate the work our staff do every day in support of residents and families and we're committed to developing a supportive environment...a culture... that supports healthy lifestyles for all staff.

Healthier lifestyles have a positive impact on our attitudes, attendance, productivity, and ultimately the care of HCK residents. And, we just feel better! All these benefits can affect not only residents but our families and friends as well.

To support this culture, HCK has created a Wellness Team comprised of staff who are passionate about helping their team members develop healthier lifestyles. The Wellness Team has created the following Wellness Mission Statement:

"To celebrate Life and Honor the Soul through creating and sustaining a wellness culture that teaches, promotes, and values a healthy lifestyle throughout HCK and our various communities."

The areas of focus for staff wellness are exercising more, healthier eating habits, managing stress, and creating a tobacco free campus. The Wellness team creates a monthly calendar of events and activities to assist staff.
