Bequests
Remembering the Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Foundation in your will can be one of the most lasting ways to make a charitable gift. A charitable bequest is a simple way you can leave a significant gift that might not have been possible during your lifetime, and to continue your interest and influence on Heritage Community of Kalamazoo into the future.
A bequest to the Heritage Community of Kalamazoo can be included in your last will and testament by working with your attorney. If you already have a will your attorney can easily amend it by codicil to include the Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Foundation.
Your bequest can be specific or residual, depending on what if right for you. A specific bequest gives a set dollar amount. A residual request allows for a gift to the organization only after all other obligations have been met.
You can also decide how you want your gift to be used by the organization. The Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Foundation accepts bequest gifts of unrestricted funds as well as gifts for specific programs or facilities. A designation to the endowment fund assures that your gift will provide income to Heritage Community of Kalamazoo into perpetuity.
